Time flies! Sorry I haven’t blogged for a while. I’ll fill in on what’s been happening and what’s going to happen…
Last summer saw me participating in the hugely popular and ever growing Tywi Valley Open Studios arts trail once more. Last year for the first time, I was on my own and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. My studio was open on each of the nine days, during which time I met an amazing number of people who took pleasure and interest in my craft.
This year I will participate again – make sure you have the dates – July 20th – 28th inc. - in your diaries and look at the on-line programme while we wait the printed versions. www.tywivalleyopenstudios.wales
I will be offering some taster sessions in felt-making, but please book in advance to secure your place on the Monday and Tuesday.
I am excited to announce that from the middle of April I will hold all day felt-making workshops at my studio workshop in mid Wales. For a minimum of two people and a maximum of just four you will experience expert guidance in the basics of wet felting, nuno felting, cobweb felting and hopefully have time for some wild felting! With fingers crossed we can make felt whilst sitting by the river and watching new lambs gambolling in the nearby fields. Why not treat your mother, sister, friend or just yourself! I can arrange dates and times to suit you.
We have had some wonderful weather recently which inspired my ‘Elements:Elfennau’ range of fabulous feltings, available from Davies & Co, Llandovery. For more inspiration I’ll be travelling shortly to India to immerse myself in colour, sights, sounds and smells. I’ll post photos from Holi (Hindu festival celebrating the beginning of Spring) where people shower one another with coloured paint. Look also on the Fabulous Feltings Facebook page.
On my return from India I will be preparing not only for the Open Studios but also for my exhibition during August at the Llanwrtyd & District Heritage & Arts Centre.
So, all in all a lot is happening – watch this space!
