Workshops

Full-day workshops  are  held in my riverside studio in the beautiful Upper Tywi Valley. If you've not experienced the magic of wet-felting before you will go home with technique samplers or a picture and a 'vase' made around a resist - felt is completly waterproof (with a jam jar inside!).

When you return (and I'm sure you will) you can take things a step further -  you may like to try your hand at making a bag or a wrap?

The cost per person is £90 to include materials and a delicious light lunch.

I will arrange a date to suit you and your companions - workshops are for a minimum of two and maximum of five - they make wonderful birthday gifts and gift vouchers can be arranged. Or how about an alternative 'hen' party?! If you prefer I can bring materials for you to have a workshop in your home or at a community gathering. A half-day workshop could be the ideal birthday party!

I have recently provided school workshops - there's almost no age limit to wet-felt making - young children just love working with bubbles and fibres, squirting water and 'thumping' the sampler to help with shrinkage.

Let yourself play!

"Beautiful venue, clear guidance from Jane, interesting content, generous materials & well fed into the bargain. Plus a sparrowhawk landed on her bird feeder during our lunch break. What is not to like. Jane has an interesting workshop filled with her beautiful work to inspire her students. All in all an enjoyable day & worth every penny of her reasonable charges."

Judy said - “I can highly recommend attending a felting workshop with Jane at Fabulous Feltings. A lovely welcome followed by hands on instructions on wet, nuno and cobweb felting and creating three samples to take home. The lunch provided was delicious. A perfect relaxing day in calming surroundings.”

Bronwyn said - “Thank you to Jane for opening my eyes to wet felting.  My 10 year old daughter wet felted her science project of Saturn. Jane, your generosity with you talent in teaching others so openly and kindly is admirable.  I am thankful that people like you exist in the world. I hope you know that hopefully through your teaching you will inspire generations of textile artists.”

Karen said; "My daughter and I went on Jane's course in September to celebrate my birthday and what a huge success the day turned out to be. The setting is glorious, the food delicious and Jane was a warm, friendly and inspiring teacher. In fact we have both taken up felting with enthusiasm and have had some successful results!
On the day itself we made three pieces of work under Jane's guidance and unlike other craft courses I've attended we took home things to feel proud of. The inevitable 'mishaps' that all beginners have were rectified in a way that didn't make you feel like an idiot and contributed to the relaxed atmosphere.
All in all I would recommend this course for those who are looking to find a new craft skill or just want a fun day that offers a sense of well being.
We intend to take another course later this year to further our new skills".
