May Madness

The time has flown by – here we are approaching the May Bank Holidays already. It’s a crazy time, with Easter being the hottest on record to a forecast for the May-Day bank holiday being the coldest on record!

We don’t need to worry about weather conditions in Cilycwm – whatever the weather you can enjoy amazing felting workshops, learning the basics of wet felting, nuno felting, cobweb felting and hopefully have time for some wild felting! You will go away with at least three samplers of your work and inspiration galore for your next projects, either here or at home.

It doesn’t matter if you are local or staying in Wales on holiday, dates to suit you can be arranged, provided there are at least two attendees and maximum of four. Based in the Upper Tywi Valley, close to the Brecon Beacons and within easy driving distance from Cardiff, my studio is in a riverside setting, perfect for an alfresco lunch. Price per person to include all materials, lunch and beverages is £75. Treat yourself and a friend – you deserve it! Recent comments include “The barn is in spectacular surroundings….”, “Jane’s passion for her work and gentle encouragement as we created our pieces is an inspiration….”, “Great fun and very good teaching…. Delicious lunch”.

Felt making is a great stress reliever too so if you’re wound up at work, come to the felting barn at Abercamlais to unwind.

In between workshops I’m busy with felting commissions – wall hangings to suit your home décor, and preparing for the Twyi Valley Open Studios Arts Trail once more - July 20th – 28th inclusive. Take a peek at the on-line programme and make a start on making your trail - www.tywivalleyopenstudios.wales

Looking further ahead I will be exhibiting at the Llanwrtyd & District Heritage and Arts Centre during August http://history-arts-wales.org.uk/whats-on/ and will take a stand at the Llandovery Sheep festival in September.

Remember, if you want something special to wear for a wedding, christening or any other of this summer’s events, please look no further than having a fabulous felted wrap which can be used as a throw or drape over your furniture when not being worn.

Phew! A busy summer for me but I hope to meet up with you sometime soon.
